Sonoma Hills Retirement is very pleasant. There were lots of lights and lots of windows, which I liked. It just didn’t strike me as institutional or anything like that. It was like a very nice hotel. It’s comfortable, too. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. She led us around, and we had lunch there. They had a very nice dining room, and the food was very good. The staff memebers were just excellent. There seemed to be a lot of activities. And in talking about the staff, they have all been there for a long time. We were drawn to Sonoma Hills mainly because of the location. To me, it’s part of a neighborhood. It’s just integrated nicely. It’s not like a big, tall building. It’s just one level, and the landscaping is nice. You can walk anywhere from there. The location was important to us. So we were very happy that Sonoma Hills just had all that we needed.
Flowers everywhere, tall, beautiful trees, endless green lawns, and forever friends. Games, movies and celebrations or personal quiet. My little dog, Annie, and I knew we were home!!!!!!
One of the many things I very much appreciate about Sonoma Hills is that we are a smaller community (80 apartments). This week we had an “impromptu” outdoor lunch barbecue. The weather was lovely, and it was so much fun eating outside on the beautiful patio with other residents. The beer was also flowing!! Endearing events like these are happening at our “charming one-of-a-kind community.
Thank you for hosting the “Celebration of Women” recently. The flowers were lovely, the music was perfect and the food delicious! We are so appreciative for such a gracious event. What an awesome place to live!! Thank you.
The theme was “Bubbles & Sweets.” Attendees were engrossed in the music played by Heather on the Harp, while at the same time: drinking champagne, savoring each mouthful of chocolate-covered strawberries, and delectable pastries, and engaging in lively conversation, storytelling, and laughter!
Today is my first anniversary at Sonoma Hills. It is a great place to live for a Senior Citizen like me. I especially like to have a kitchen staff who prepares three meals a day – so I don’t have to! My housekeeper does a far better job in my apartment than I would! I found that Sonoma Hills has everything I need and things are easy to find. I am grateful for the great staff who will go above and beyond when I need help!
I have worked at Sonoma Hills for almost 20 years in various positions – still work here part-time! Once my other half passed, I sold the house and moved in. The best decision ever as being part of a community as a senior is keeping me healthy, socially involved, purposeful, and enjoying my life one day at a time.
We haven’t been here long, but we are so happy to be living here. Our apartment and patio are just right for us. We enjoy the workout room a lot. We appreciate our chauffeur so much. All of the staff are so helpful and kind and cheerful.
No Cooking! No Cleaning! Nice people Galore! What more could I as for?
One of my favorite activities at Sonoma Hills Retirement is being on the Sonoma Hills Thunderettes Bean Bag Baseball Team. Twice a month we compete with another community–to date the Thunderettes are unbeaten, 8-0! We have fan clubs who cheer us on and share a meal together. There is a lot of camaraderie, excitement, noise and fun!
After years of living in a large home by myself, I moved to Sonoma Hills Retirement as a result of a health challenge. Living here with all the company and activities, I absolutely love it! The atmosphere, the wonderful staff and fun activities are great! Plus I can be myself whenever I chose-the best of both worlds!
Sonoma Hills is very accommodating to their residents and has anticipated all residents’ needs. I very much like the floor plan for my two bedroom apartment. This is a new adventure and, I enjoy the town of Sonoma. I can see myself living at Sonoma Hills a long time!
I am Safe! Fed! Warm! I receive lots of enjoyment from volunteering, which I get to do by shopping for and scheduling resident cashiers at our Resident General Store during the past six years!
I can turn the heat on and not worry about the PG&E bill! I even get my bed made! I save lots of money on groceries and love the staff.
I knew it was time to move from my home of 30 years and make new memories. By far things are better for me! There are other residents in the same circumstances, and we understand each other. When Sonoma Hills opened, my husband and I toured. If we had moved in then, things would have been better.
I questioned myself as to if I was doing the right thing and am getting along perfectly. There is nothing I find I don’t like, especially being part of a community. I so enjoy gardening and exercise classes and attend all of them!
