People who Matter
You have probably heard the phrase, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life!” This quote resonates with much of our staff at Sonoma Hills Retirement Living. We are thrilled to have created an environment where people not only love to live but love to work – the benefits of happy employees are endless!
A Flourishing Culture
Sonoma Hills has assembled a culture where our personnel can flourish in their productivity and showcase their talents. Experience has shown that employee retention is key to creating the best home for our residents. When our staff has a wonderful work environment, our residents can have a piece of mind knowing that they are in capable hands.
Our Friend, Pat
Pat Valone is a true example of someone who loves their job and loves where she lives! Her story speaks for itself.
“Twenty years ago I relocated to Sonoma, California from Cleveland, Ohio (where I spent the first 54 years of my life!!) to be near my sister and niece. I responded to an ad in the local paper: ‘Weekend Concierge Needed at Sonoma Hills Retirement.’ I called, interviewed, and was hired to work in this beautiful community. Little did I know how my life would change! Not only would I discover my career passion at Sonoma Hills, working in various positions from Concierge, Life Enrichment Director, Executive Director, and Community Liaison. I also served in the dining room, driving and doing whatever was needed! I met and married my Prince Charming who leased our Beauty Salon! When he passed away after 15 years together, I sold the house, and two months later Max (our rescue dog) and I moved into Sonoma Hills. I have and continue to meet some of the most lovely, interesting, and funny people ever! We (the residents, their families, and our staff) experience life together with all its ups and downs. I believe I have the best of both worlds…resident and part-time employee! Due to the amenities provided, Sonoma Hills provides a simpler, less stressful way of life, balanced with a complete schedule of events! I experience a spiritual connection in our community, as we really want the best for everyone, a willingness to help each other abounds and there exists a true sense of security.”
Pat is one of many examples of long-term employees at Sonoma Hills Retirement Living who are happy to continue to serve the residents here.
